Privacy policy

Classora is software that academies use to run their classes. This policy covers classora.ai, the Classora admin website and the apps academies give their families and teachers, such as the ANASFA app. They are made by Wonkrew, a brand of Satz Venture Nurturers Private Limited ("we").

Your academy looks after your records

An academy that uses Classora decides what it records about its students, families and teachers, and is responsible for it. We hold and process that information for the academy, on its instructions, and for no purpose of our own. If you want to know what your academy holds about you, or want it changed, ask the academy first. We help it answer.

What is held

Your account

Your name, the mobile number you sign in with, your email address if you give one, and the academy and role (parent, student or teacher) the account belongs to.

The academy's records

  • Students: name, date of birth, photo, classes and enrolments, class credits, attendance, grades, exam results, report cards and certificates, and any medical notes the family shares, which are kept encrypted.
  • Families: parents and guardians, who may collect a child, and consent choices.
  • Billing: invoices, payments, credits and offers.
  • Teachers: classes taught, notices of leave, and pay records.

Your phone

A notification token, so the academy can tell you when a class is cancelled or moved, and the app version and phone model. If the app fails, a crash report is sent with what went wrong in the app; it carries no names, phone numbers or records.

This website

If you book a demo or write to us, what you send us. The website uses no analytics or advertising cookies.

What we never do

The apps do not use your location, contacts, camera or microphone. We show no advertising, do not track you across other apps or websites, and never sell anyone's information.

How it is used

  • To run the academy's work: timetables, attendance, progress, reports and fees.
  • To sign you in, with a code sent to your phone.
  • To send the notifications the academy and you need.
  • To answer questions, fix faults and keep the service secure.
  • To keep a record of every change to the records, who made it and when, so the academy can see what happened.

Who else sees it

The academy's staff, by their role, and the family members the academy links to a student: a parent sees what the academy publishes about their child. We use these providers to run the service, each only for its part:

  • Hetzner, our servers, in Singapore.
  • Cloudflare, for the network and for storing files such as photos and certificates.
  • Google Firebase, to send sign-in codes and check that requests come from the real app; Apple and Google, to deliver notifications.
  • Sentry, for crash reports.
  • The WhatsApp provider an academy chooses, when it sends WhatsApp messages.
  • Stripe, when an academy takes card payments. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store a full card number.

Some of these providers work in other countries as well, under their own safeguards for personal data.

How it is kept safe

Every connection is encrypted, sensitive details are encrypted where they are stored, each academy's records are kept apart from every other academy's, and staff see only what their role allows.

How long it is kept

For as long as the academy uses Classora and needs the records. Finance records are kept for at least five years, as record-keeping laws require. When an academy stops using Classora, its records are returned to it or deleted, as agreed with the academy.

Deleting your app account

You can delete your app account in the app, or by writing to us. Delete an app account explains how, and what the academy keeps afterwards.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and withdraw consent you gave, such as for photos. Ask your academy, or write to [email protected] and we will pass the request on and help. In Singapore this is under the Personal Data Protection Act; elsewhere, the law where you live may give you more.

Children

Many students are children. Their records are made by the academy, with their parents. A student's own app account is set up by the academy for the family. Under the age the academy sets (13, or 16 or 18 where the law asks for it), a child uses the app on their own phone only once a parent agrees, which the parent does when they accept their own invitation. A parent can ask the academy to withdraw it at any time, and the child's own access then ends at once. We never market to children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and its date, and tell academies about any change that matters.
